Our big question to kick off our ‘Above and Below’ topic is ‘ How do fossils form and what can they tell us about life on Earth millions of years ago?’ To introduce the idea of body and imprint fossils, we first created jelly fossils using different coloured jelly to show the layers in sedimentary rock (pictures to follow). We then used bread and jelly sweets to create our own ‘imprint fossils’ and discussed how scientists would use this information to form a picture of life millions of years ago. #AmbitiousCapableLearners
