Investigation the Past
This week we have been thinking about how Stone Age people communicated amounts of things , like six bears or four cave lions. We know numbers are a relatively new thing so we thought: they might have made marks in the ground like tally marks, or painted pictures on rocks, or tapped something so many times or shown their fingers.
It was difficult to imagine a world without numbers.
We were astounded to see how many things the people of the Stone Age had -that we still use now, like pots and bowls, knifes and axes, sewing needles and clothes, jewellery and ornaments.
