26th Sept 2016

Dosbarth Yr Aran have been busy bees this week, studying and exploring the habitats of mini-beasts. With a tick sheet in hand no-one is afraid of spiders, slugs or crane flies! Everyone was eager to find all the mini-beasts we'd studied.

We found lots of seeds in Forest School on our mini-beast hunt so we wanted to know more about them.

We have been strengthening our hand muscles and making sure our hands are super flexible by doing lots of fine-motor activities. Doing this helps us control our writing materials, cut with scissors and create pieces of art work with lots of detail. We have also improved our gross motor skills during an engineering task. We had to design a run for a tennis ball with pipes and guttering. We worked really well together. Many of the activities have linked to our woodland topic.

We have been printing patterns with mini-beast stamps, apples and leaves. We've been acting out our own version of Little Red Riding Hood ( after Y1 and 2 came to tell us the story last week) and Five Little Speckled frogs.

We are very busy bees!
